Among the small number of practicing daguerreians, Mike Robinson's
work stands out by the painstaking preparation and polish of his plates.
This makes a marked difference in the clarity and contrast of the
finished piece. Mike made this portrait of me on October 30, 2003
in Toronto, about 4:00PM in his north-light studio. The prominent
solar flares that were going on at the time contributed to the wonderful
success of the exposure, or so we reasoned. I was so glad about the
result that I purchased it and made a case for it.
